Join the Liverpool Architectural Society for a screening of The Brutalist, a powerful architectural allegory exploring the life of Hungarian-Jewish Holocaust survivor and Bauhaus-trained architect L谩szl贸 T贸th. After reuniting with his wife and niece in post-war America, L谩szl贸 is commissioned by a wealthy industrialist to design a monumental modernist structure an opportunity that propels his career to new heights while exposing deep emotional and societal tensions.

The film uses Brutalist architecture as a metaphor for resilience and inner conflict, reflecting the polarised views of the style as either cold and imposing or sculpturally honest and bold.

The evening includes a short introduction by the Liverpool Architectural Society and a 15-minute interval after 100 minutes. This screening is part of a series exploring architecture through film.

The introduction and screening will begin at 6:15. Please note that doors open 30 minutes before the screening and the programme will begin promptly at the listed time.
